After independence, as per the policy of Government of India Industrial
revolution took place, which resulted to create great cities like Mumbai. To fulfill the demand of milk of this developed big cities, it was necessary to establish the Dairy Development activities. Hence Maharashtra
government have decided to implement the Dairy Development through co-operative media. Taking in to consideration the demand and supply of milk should be in no loss and no profit basis. The proper price of milk
should be given to milk producers living in rural areas in the state. It was necessary of organize the primary Dairy Co-operative Societies at village level and District Co-operative milk Federation at district
place to manage the milk procurement from rural area-it was necessary to provide technical guidance and necessary help to implement the Dairy Development office, established in the year 1878.The office has a
great roll in dairy actives in the District as organization of primary Dairy Co-operative societies in rural area, to provide technical guidance overall supervision, to maintain the quality of milk, to implement
the Dairy Development schemes to provide the linkage for Govt. Sponsored schemes and to establish the Government milk chilling centers for routine handling of milk. Through Dairy Development the surplus milk
in rural area has created the market and regular cash flow in rural area through purchase of milk form primary Dairy co-operative societies established at village level. |
