Office of the Woman & Child Development

The Government of Maharashtra established the side Department vide Govt. Resolution No. SWI-1088/ 341 correction-1 Date 14th August 1991 for the Development of a Women & Children.

 

For the Development of Women & Children various schemes  are implemented. The attempt makes for the destitute. Homeless,neglected and decoquent etc. cildren by giving protection ,care treatment and attempte makes for their  rehabilitation. In the same way the widows divorced and other poor sheltereless needy women are helped for their development.

    

Woman development Schemes

 

1. Woman Training Centre

 

Grant-in-aid to Registered Mahila Mandal or Registerd voluntary Institution, for setting up women training center for different trades. The Commissioner Women and child Development (M.S.) pune awards recognisation to suitable registered voluntary Institution.

 

Under this scheme the recognised Institution is given Rs. 28,500 grant-in-aid as a non-recoring expenditure and their after for every six months training period grant-in-aid Rs.21500/- as a recurring grant including stipend to trainee women Rs. 75/- per month per beneficisary.

 

2. Stipend for girls for vocational training in different craft

 

Economically Backward 10th Class Pass girls for taking training in govt. I.T.I or in other  Government Reconised Institutions are given Rs.100/-stipand during training period. The annual income of applicant should not be more than Rs.15.000/-

 

3. Individual aid under self employment scheme for women

 

Poor and needy women of 18 to 40 age group,who are interested  to start their small business to help the  family economically are given grant-in-aid of  Rs.500/-(once time) The annual income  of the applicant should not be more than Rs.15,000/-

 

4. Financial aid to widows for the marriage of their one daughter

 

Under this scheme grant-in-aid of Rs.2000/- is given  to economically backward class  widows for the marriage of their one daughter. The  annual income of the applicant widow women should not be more than Rs.15,000/-

 

5. Kamdhenu Yojana

 

To provide the work at home  to the needy women the object of said scheme. In this scheme Zilla parished, Municipality, Hospitals, School, Corporation , Government office etc. If requirs uniforms. Bedsheets,phynile,dusters,chalks etc. should purchase minimus 50 % meterials by given 10% more rate of tender rate  from the recognised  registered  Mahila  Mandals who provide the works to their women menbers. As well as any Mahila Mandals  who provide the works to their   members@  of Rs. 500/- P.M. from the industry Rs.20/- p.m. per beneficiary as a establishment grant is given to the said agency.

 

6. Working woman hostel 

 

This scheme is sponsered by Central Government. To provide residential facilities to women who are saving away from their homes. To run such hostels  registered organisation is given 50% amount of total cost of land to purchase the  land and 75% amount is given for construction of Hostel building. However total cost of construction  should not be more than 14,000/- per beneficiary. In Yavatmal Distt. there is two working Women hostel.

 

Child development schemes

 

a) Observation Home (Remand Home)

 

The said observation Home function as the juvenile justice Act.1986. The children who requires to stay in the Institution are kept in the Observation Home. Foods, clothes, beeding, medical gacilities, educational facilities etc. are provided to the inmetes during their stay in the Observation Home, At Yavatmal there is one Govt. Observation Home for boyes. In this Institution , the delequent children are admitted by the order of the presiding officer of the juvenile Court and destitute andneglected children can be admitted by the order of Bal kalyan Mandal.

 

b) Bal gruha

  

As per Juvenile  justice Act.1986 the children who requires Institional treatment are committed to Bal Gruha by the order of  Presiding Officer Juvenile Court or by the order  of Bal Kalayn Mandal as the  case may be. The Institution which is run by  voluntary organisations are given grant-in-aid of Rs.450/-per inmate per month as a  maintainance grant and Rs. 50/- per month per inmet as a building rent, medical expenditure etc.

 

c) Bal Sadan

 

To provide family atmosphere,montherly affection food, clothing,eductional,medical facilities provides to the needy destitute children. The voluantary agencies by obtaining the recognisation of this department can run the Bal Sadan for which the  institutin is given Rs.450/- p.m. per inmet as a maintainance grant and Rs.50/- p.m. per inmet for the building rent. Medical expenditure etc.

 

d) Destitute Home

 

Likewise Bal sadan the destitute,neglected children are given admission in the destitute home. The institution provide shelter, food , clothing, medical and eduction facilities etc. to the  inmates. The interested voluntary agencies which are recognised to run destitute home  are given Rs.450/- grant-in-aid per month per inmate as a maintanance grant and Rs.50/- p.m. per inmate for building rent medical expenditure etc.

 

Various Committies (Samitees) formed 

 

1. Hunda Nirmulan Dakshata Samitee

 

There is a District Hunda Nirmulan Dakshata Sammitee. The  Collector  of the  District is the President of the Samitee.

 

2. District Rehabilitation Committee

 

As per the order of the Honourable High Court Mumbai,a cammitted named District Rehabilitation Committee is formed under the chairmanship of the Collector to provide better job opportunity for the inmets of Bal Gruha.

 

Becides this the proposals of gollowing awards given by the Government, submits to the department by this office.

  •       National award for brevary & maritorious services for children.
