| Roads and Railways are the major modes of transport in Yavatmal district. |
National Highways – Nagpur to Hyderabad is the national highway passes through the district at places such as Vadki, Karanji, Pandharkawada, Patanbori and Kelapur etc.
Main Road – Amravati to Chandrapur route passes through Ner, Yavatmal, Jodmoha, Mohada, Umari, Karanji and Wani places.
Nagpur to Tulzapur – This is a state highway route passes through Kalamb, Yavatmal, Arni, Umarkhed etc.
Railways – Yavatmal and Darwha Stations lies on this narrow gauge rail line.
Wani-Varoda – Wani is a railway junction. From Wani, one line goes up to Rajur and another to Chanakha. This line is used for transportation of coal. In addition to this, Other line from Wani goes to Majari-Varoda.

Cotton, Yarn, Nylon, Tiles, Lime and Coal are send out from district. Where as Food grains, Tea, Coffee, Machines, Iron goods, Cars, Bicycles, Cement and Medicines are brought into Yavatmal from out-side. |
Jowar and cotton are the main agriculture produces of the district. Other important cash crops are Groundnut and Pulses(Tur-dal). The major exportable crops are cotton and teak wood giving highest revenue to the district. Other exportable items are cotton yarns, lime, ice candy, wooden furniture, animal foods, oranges, coal and Tendoo leaves etc. |
The chief import articles are cloths, raw cotton, lime stone, machineries, cement, medicines etc. Most of these are imported from Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune etc. Apart from the weekly markets and fairs, Yavatmal, Pusad, Wani, Digras, Ghatanji, Pandharkawda, Ralegaon, Umarkhed, Darwha, and ner are the important trade centers in district. |
